Virtual Studio Technology and its acronym VST refer to an interface standard for connecting audio synthesizer and effect plugins to audio editors and hard-disk recording systems.VST and similar technologies allow the replacement of traditional recording studio hardware with software counterparts. They are overwhelming at first, but the learning curve is totally worth it. Both them are awesome and totally recommended. So for the money they also threw in a copy of: Edit: FM8 is more a 'pure FM synth' than Sytrus, which does a few more things, while most of the work on FM8 was related to the interface and less on adding features. When you do you find that you are eligible for a "two for the price of one" deal as well. ![]() It's kind of hard to believe that something that is normally £129 is selling for £12 (Americans get an even better deal at $10!) but at this kind of "throw away" price (90% off) it's hard not snap it up. I had a look at buying it at the time but it was £129 and I just couldn't really justify paying that for something that just looked like "a bit of fun".īut then today something drew my attention to this on Plugin Boutique: I just have an interest in FM synths (mainly hardware) but a while back I saw several things (YouTube tutorials about FM synthesis) featuring the Native Instruments FM8 soft synth (VST) and thought it looked really impressive.
